Sway, tre ruote elettrico sportivo
La californiana Sway Motorsports ha ideato un prototipo elettrico a tre ruote dall'impronta sportiva che, assicurano i tecnici, permette un elevato piacere di guida. Il segreto starebbe negli ingombri ridotti (è lungo 152 cm, largo 89 e alto 114), nel peso contenuto (100 kg) e, soprattutto, nel sistema che controlla l'inclinazione del mezzo. A differenza di altri scooter con due ruote anteriori, nello Sway la “piega” è azionata dal movimento delle gambe consentendo un maggiore controllo del mezzo e sterzate in spazi più stretti. A spingere il triciclo è un motore elettrico da 8 kW che fornisce un buono spunto in accelerazione e ripresa, ma con velocità limitata a 56 o 95 km/h. Il primo numero si riferisce alla versione base equipaggiata con batterie al piombo che consentono un'autonomia di 32 km con un “pieno”, ma contengono il prezzo a 4.999 dollari, poco più di 3.600 euro. Con la variante con accumulatori al LiFePo4 (litio ferro fosfato), accreditata della velocità più elevata, la percorrenza raddoppia (64 km) mentre il listino lievita fino a 7.999 dollari, ossia intorno ai 5.800 euro. Per entrambe le batterie sono sistemate sotto la pedana per avere un baricentro basso e un'ottimale distribuzione dei pesi. Secondo quanto dichiarato dai responsabili della società americana, la produzione dello Sway dovrebbe iniziare nel 2015 con un primo lotto di 300 esemplari già ordinabili tramite il sito versando una caparra di 1.000 dollari, circa 730 euro.
